Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper proposes a new simultaneous carrier and bit-timing recovery scheme for O-QPSK. The proposed scheme employs a preamble with a specific bit-pattern designed so that the baseband signal alternates between two adjacent decision points at the symbol rate. By adopting the preamble, the carrier phase and bit-timing are simultaneously and independently estimated using open-loop carrier recovery and bit-timing recovery schemes. Simulation results show that, compared with conventional schemes, the proposed scheme significantly improves the agility of acquisition. A mere 30-symbol preamble is sufficient for low-Eb/No AWGN channels typical of satellite communication channels. In addition, the proposed scheme is suitable for digital implementation processing at 2samples/symbol and does not require an analog voltage control clock.
