Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) NTT has developed an economical and high-speed multimedia computer network, combining satellite and terrestrial circuits. With satellite system, the satellite propagation delay causes the degradation of a TCP throughput. Besides, an UDP throughput does not depend on the round trip time, but UDP is not a reliable protocol. Therefore, we newly proposed the high throughput and high reliable file transfer process with UDP. This protocol is added to the upper layer of UDP and realizes the repeat control scheme. This new file transfer process realizes several times to about 10 times higher throughput than FTP from our experimental results.
