Abstract(in English)	The new era of satellite communications is starting today, because of personalization of computer communications like the Internet, multimedia services like digital multichannel broadcast satellite services, and reducing cost by using high performance satellites and LSI technology. Application scenes of satellite communications are changing very much, from long distance trunk lines to access lines, from public telecommunication services to private company use or personal use, from real time communications to stored communications. The trend of satellite communications, main technologies and their subjects of study are shown with examples.
