Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In the next generation satellite communication systems, onboard high power amplifiers (HPAs) are required to generate extremely high RF power for a multiplicity of services and large communication capacity. A progressive technique that can efficiently generate high RF power while maintaining linearity is indispensable under the conditions of limited DC power and heat dissipation of the satellites. A spread distortion method using HPA arrays is proposed in this paper. The proposed technique is applicable to multi-port amplifiers and active-phased-array antennas and has been experimentally investigated.
