Study on Electrical Characteristics of Large Antennas for Satellite Use

Abstract(in English) Recently, engineers have focused on developing mobile satellite communications and broadcasting system using GEO satellite. We are now studying an on-board antenna which has a large deployable mesh reflector. In this paper, we will first present the electrical characteristics, if the reflector antenna is applied an active phased array antenna to a primary feed. These characteristics include, a relationship between the antenna gain and beam direction when a dynamic range of an excitation amplitude is constraind, a gain value due to an amplifier problem. Finally, we offer a pattern correction method by adjusting the excitation phase of the phased array feed.
