Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper deals with the inherent bias of a simple height finding radar, which is called the Navigation Accuracy Mesurement System(NAMS).The radar uses a marine radar as its sensor and estimates the height of cruising aircraft using a non-linear least squares method.Because of using the linearized observation equation for its height estimation, an inherent bias error due to the non-linear equation occurs in the estimated height. The characteristics of the inherent bias are quantitatively analyzed. The results indicate that the inherent biases of NAMS are within a few centimeters, i.e., negligibly small under realistic observation conditions.
