Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Required E_b/N_o and 99% energy bandwidth of BS digital broadcasting signals are obtained by computer simulation. Moreover, assuming system parameters, the relations between a service time percentage and a transmission symbol rate are investigated. Under the 99% energy bandwidth limitation of 27 MHz, the transmission symbol rate of 22 Mbaud can be achieved with 1 dB Output Back-off (OBO) of a satellite transponder. In the case of the 99% energy bandwidth limitation of more than 33 MHz, additional transmission capacity brought by OBO operation is a small amount. Consequently, it is desirable to operate the satellite transponder with 0 dB OBO to obtain high service time percentage. The results of this study contributed to the discussion of the BS digital broadcasting standard in ARIB.
