Abstract(in English) As a part of the study on standardization of BS digital broadcasting system an experimental confirmation is carried out by the Association of Radio Industries and Businesses (ARIB). The experimental results on performances of carrier recovery at low CNR reception and on the adaptability of conventional out door units (ODUs) are reported here. We employed phase noise value (θ_rms), which is the integral value of the phase noise spectrum of the local oscillator of ODU, as a parameter for evaluating the phase noise characteristics of ODUs. As a result, it is estimated that most of the conventional ODUs can be used for the reception of BS digital broadcasting signals. The carrier lock-in time of the receivers is also measured. It is confirmed that the lock-in time is less than two seconds.
