Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Single handset systems and global roaming are realizable if a terrestrial cellular mobile telephone have a common air interface with a LEO satellite mobile telephone system. A basic conceptual design has been performed using the Global Star Project as a case study. Two kinds of frequency channel allocation methods are studied and excess frequency channels for terrestrial cellular system are computed. Cluster numbers for the terrestrial system are estimated and enhanced frequency utilization ratio has been shown.
