Abstract(in English) As mobile phones such as PDC and PHS become popular, the needs grow which communicate not only speech but multimedia information including video signal. Considering this mobile application the video coding technology which is highly efficient and and robust against the transmission error was adopted as Committee Draft in MPEG4. ITU-T H.223 protocol standard which multiplex multimedia including speech, video and data into a bit-stream is also expanded to H.223 Annex which provides error protection against the mobile application. It is reported here that the video quality of MPEG4 video coding with ITU-T H.223 protocol combined is evaluated, assuming mobile application.
