Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We propose a method for calculating BER performance of two state convolutional code with Viterbi decoding algorithm. In the proposed method, transition probability matrix is modified to provide upper and lower bounds of error probability. The recursive calculation reduce difference between the upper and lower bounds, and after several repetition, coincidence of the two bounds is confirmed. Using this method, calculated BER performance is shown graphically for hard and soft decisions, and probability of burst errors are also examined.
