Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The cell search procedure of a mobile station in wideband code division multiple access (WCDMA) to find a base station consists of the following steps: 1) chip synchronisation, 2) long code group identification, 3) frame synchronisation, and 4) long-code identification. Two main factors are considered in evaluating different cell search methods. One is the complexity of the cell search device as in the number of necessary computations; and the other is how successful the first-attempt cell search is. In this paper, we propose two new methods of cell search, and compare them with a previously published method. We then compare the methods based the complexity of the related algorithms, and assess their performance.
