Abstract(in English) This paper proposes the intentional overlapping of subcarriers' spectra for multicarrier signaling. Two different types of signal detectors, zero-forcing and decision-feedback detectors, are presented. The zero-forcing detector is equivalent to inverse filtering of the multiple input-multiple output channel associated with the overlapped multicarrier signaling system. The decision feedback detector is derived from the spectral factorization of the matrix transfer function. Overall performances of the detectors are evaluated in terms of the noise enhancement, which is inherent within the two detectors, normalized by the bandwidth reduction factor. It is shown that the averaged normalized noise enhancement factor, averaged over all subcarriers, is, in general, smaller with the decision feedback detector than with the zero-forcing detector if their parameters are the same. Results of computer simulations of the bit error rate performance of the two detectors are also shown together with the performance of a conventional detector where decision takes place subcarrier-by-subcarrier.
