A Study of Wavelength Division Multiplex Network Design

Abstract(in English) While the network demands are heavily increasing, Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) technology is promised to be used in the next generation backbone. In this paper, a method to get network capacity and path information from given network demand, which is required to design a network using both of the existing path-layer (TDM) network and optical path-layer (WDM) network, is proposed. Moreover, some investigations about the behavior of the both layers based on the result of applying this method.
