Antenna Pattern Analysis Under the Crater on the Moon

Abstract(in English) ISAS(The Institute of Space and Astronautical Science) is planning to make clear the internal structures of the moon by three penetrators with seismometers. A crater is formed when they are penetrated into the moon. It is important to know the radiation characteristics of an antenna located under the crater on the moon. We calculate electric field scattered by the crater using SBR(Shooting and Bouncing Rays) technique which is used for calculating radar cross section of cavities, and compare calculated result with experimentally measured pattern.
