Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | To inspect visual/audio subliminal responses, we have measured emotional changes based on physiological phenomenon by converting them into electrodermal activities and emotional sweating rate. Each subject as an audience is asked to watch two or three videos on a monitor TV for about 9 minutes each, attaching the optional units for detecting electrodermal activities or sweating rate on his hand or his arm. The contents of the first video originally are considered to be neutral in aspects of emotional viewpoints. The second video is essentially consists of the first video and 11 cuts that are inserted at random of duratmtion of 1/30 second in the first video. The contents of 11 cuts are expected to mainly cause the audiences emotional changes by sexual stimulates. The third video consists of the second video except what the same 11 cuts are inserted at random of 1 second. The total of the subjects is 22 and they are all male students in age ranges between 19 and 25 years old. The results showed that emotional changes meaningfully apeared in the case of watching the second and third videos. However no emotional chahges have appeared at all in the case of watching the rust video. |
