| Abstract(in English) | The universities in Japan have been requested to be changed to adapt in information oriented society. In this paper, the recent serious issues which universities currently are faced are explained. Then the recent status and trend on distance education and the regulation of the Ministry of Education for accreditation by distance education are also explained. Finally, the future directions for distance education in Japan are proposed. |
