Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have developed an electronic raise-writer system that has advantages of both a raise-writer and a tactile display. The aim is to enable the blind to draw figures, graphics, etc.himself. The system is composed of a pen-style input device held by beam arms with two axis and tactile displays driven by piezoelectric actuators. The pen-style device controls the up and down position on the tactile display. The main points of improving the system are an input method by LCD tablet and a function of tactile animation. Blind students and their teachers evaluate the system. In this paper, we describe the actual state of the system and future plan led by remarks from evaluations and some consideration.
