Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) When a student learns Prolog recursive programming becomes an obstacle to master it.To assist learners, we developed a Prolog learning support system that has the following functions.(1)We introduced a structured diagram that consists of elements of recursive programs. It helps learners to understand method of constructing recursive programs.(2)Trace in the form of the structured diagram supports understanding computational mechanism of recursive programs.(3)A programming interface that helps transition from writing programs in the form of the structured diagram into the usual form of Prolog was prepared.(4)Tracing by the tree structure was prepared for supporting the understanding of the complicated execution order of Prolog.(5)The system diagnoses learners programs. We evaluated the effectiveness of the Prolog learning support system by comparing results of examination of two learner groups.
