Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Students need the system for realizing error diagnosis, its explanation, evaluation, and correction of their Japanese translation by understanding the structure of English correctly. The student's answer is analyzed by the morpheme. They are gathered as a word and a syntactic element by the combination rule.We compute the amount evaluation on the basis of the good quality for the meaning of the word and the Japanese translation of the ayntactic element, the order of the syntactic element, and the time required to answer. We correct a student's answer by comparing it with the nearest correct answer. The system provides appropriate explanation to the mistake using the English structure representation and the structure representation of the correct answer. The system has the student model which stores the evaluation of the Japanese translation. It shows a problem appropriately fitting to the learning condition. The system prepares the word, the basic sentence pattern, the syntactic element, basic English, and application English as the problem. We report for such a system STEJ3.
