Abstract(in English) These days, as computers spread, qualitative and quantitative studies of languages have been carried out In this study, we analyzed American Presidents' inaugural addresses, which are assumed to stand for the social background extremely. In short, transition of languages used by politicians were investigated in terms of Presidential speeches. As a result, it has been cleared that while the kinds of characters and words are increasing in these days, relative difficulty is decreasing because of using simpler words or phrases. Judging from this, Presidents of modern-day are supposed to try to make their speeches easy enough for citizens to understand. The nation's demands will change with the times, which causes transition of Presidential speeches.
