Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In spite of the populaxization of the graphically supported file- manager systems, the conventional UNIX command line system is indispensable for softwaxe development. The present paper reports on the implementation of a learning assistant system for novice UNIX command users focusing on the following modes of assistance: (1)to help understand the UNIX system performances in response to arbitrary command line inputs.(2)to propose command line descriptions that will achieve the task ambiguously specified by the learner. In order to attain these goals,we model the UNIX system performances in terms of agents each of which performs a primitive action on the systemuser context and their collaboration achieves the task specified by a command line input by the user or assumed by the help system to achieve the user-specified task. The implementation of mode(1)assistance consists of a parser and a simulator program, the former converting an arbitrary command line description into an agent action sequence and the latter simulating the equence to display the performances on a window system. The mode(2)assistance is realized by a menu system helping the user to specify in steps the task he, she likes to achieve and a command information retrieving mechanism composes and proposes candidate command line descriptions.
