Abstract(in English) Most intelligent tutoring systems(ITS)have mainly concentrated on how to reduce a cognitive load which a student will bear in learning a domain.However this load reduction approach often fails to enhance the student′s learning.Another approach to the enhancem ent is to apply a load to his, her learning process.In this paper, we present the cognitive load application tutoring,CLAT for short. This paper also describes a CLAT model in a demonstration system and its evaluation.This model accomplishes the load application to a student who tries to understand an explanation given by the system.Such load application enables the student to reinforce his/ her retention of the explanation.
