| Abstract(in English) | This paper describes the development of a hieroglyphic kanji knowledge base system called "HIDS." Our kanji learning CAI system "Kanji Laboratory" consists of HIDS as a sub system.HIDS has the following functions:(1)explaining transformation from an original object to the hieroglyphic kanji and(2)explaining the original object.As for(1),HIDS shows the transformation process by animation.As for(2),HIDS shows the traditional explanation written in paper dictionary and various kinds of additional information. This information supports the student to comprehend the original object with cultural elements. |
