Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper,we proposed a model of similarity judgment named SFC(Similarity by Feature Creation).SFC tries to create a new feature which is relevant to achieve the goal and computes a deep similarity between objects based on the newly created feature. If the model fails to create a new feature,it computes a shallow similarity by feature comparison.SFC(similarity by feature creation)predicted that the asymmetry of similarity was due to the directionality of acquired skill. The material was the Tower of Hanoi puzzle.Subjects were required to rate the similarities of one state to the goal as well as those of the goal to a state. In experiments,we taught one group of subjects the ′move-pattern stra tegy,′ and compared their judgments with those by naive subjects.T he asymmetry was observed only in the judgments by the subjects whose skiils were directional.
