Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) For reading English in the first year, each one English sentence in the information science field is allocated to each student beforehand. He/she translates it in the class. A teacher corrects mistakes of translations, shows which is the subject and the verb, and translates it once again. Questions in the examination are made among English sentences that students translated. As the correct answer percentage was 38%, it means that the educational method wasn't too good.To improve this method in the second year, English sentences allocated beforehand are copied on the OHP sheet by using a photocopying machine. Students should write a translation on it by the time of the class. They draw the red underline to the subject and draw the blue underline to the verb. They explain the translation and point out subjects and verbs using OHP in the class. A teacher explains it once again while righting mistakes. In the following week, they have the small test. The correct answer percentage was 36%. The correct answer percentage in the examination was 55%. The educational method was fairly improved in comparison with the first year. We report the learning effect by the presentation style.
