Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) To compare the difference of communication between in cyber space and in real world, a simple virtual mall system was developed. Subjects had to make some purchases by speaking in English both in virtual mall and in face-to-face role play. Their ability of English was measured by TOEIC. The amount of utterance, questionnaire on both environments and ability of English were used for evaluation. The result showed that the subject who had high English ability could speak more in face-to-face then in virtual mall. On the other hands, the subject who had low English ability could speak more in virtual mall. Therefore, we may conclude that the large amount of information in real world and subjects' mental stress in face-to-face interaction affected the communication.
