Abstract(in English) By applying results of research on CSCW, we will be able to utilize computer networks as a learning environment in which learners can cooperate with other members in pursuit of knowledge over computer networks. In this paper, we describe architecture and implementation of a Learner-Centered Learning Environment (LCLE), using MineS that we develop as a Multimedia Information Network Environment Services system. Our goal is realize an LCLE in which learners: aqcuire the latest knowledge widely according to their interests; and advance their knowledge through discussion with others. LCLE needs to provide the following three functions for constitution of the learner's own knowledge: (1)Providing educational tools such as an electronic notebook, a chat interface, an electronic bulletin board, etc; (2)Adapting and customizing the educational tools; for discussion among a lot of learners; (3)Sharing the educational tools with others. We implemented LCLE by adding these functions to MineS.
