Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, universities and other kind of schools begin to take an interest in a distance learning system. Such tendency is achieved in a background of easy trasmission of video signals at low cost using communication networks. In general, video images of remote lecture is produced either by use of a single fixed camera or by mixture of plural cameras. The former image is easy to be monotone, the latter requires man power such as a director. We propose a method of producing lecture images taken by plural cameras which are automatically controlled by a computer. In our method, firstly estimates pose and position of a lecturer by a single fixed camera, then controls the camera angle and zoom of plural cameras based on the estimation of pose and position. It is shown that the experimental results are highly rated in comparison with the case of a single fixed camera.
