Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A mesh-topology VSAT system is useful for the introduction of distance education via satellite since the system may provide an effective way for the higher level education. In this system, each terminal computer associated with the VSAT stores a vast amounts of instructional elements consisted of verbal messages and handwriting figures. A pair of these signals are to be transmitted selectively to any distant site by the request of instructor to serve them the classroom learners. This paper describes the prototype configuration and procedural functions in the network. To allow an efficient utilization of transmission capacity, 64kbps is divided into several TDM channels; one is assigned to the common signaling for connection and the rest are for transmission of instructional data. The node is the device with which control and managements for the connection can be properly accomplished among terminals.
