Information Education to Improve Computer Literacy at College of Technology

Abstract(in English) Our curriculum includes courses for computer literacy education, in which we teach computer manipulation skill, programming languages and the application of information. technology. Especially, Fundamental of Information Technology, a course for freshmen of the Department of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science to learn computer literacy, is connected with "the Basic Information Technology" at Junior High School. In that course the students make "animating statistical graphs" as the final task. In exercises of the C programing, . the students make good use of computer graphics to improve their understanding of the sort algorithm. In this paper We report several case studies concerning the Fundamental of Information Technology, the exercise in the C programing, and so on.
