| Abstract(in English) | The progress of data-processing technology has been remarkable. Terms such as downsizing, networking, open systems, and multi-media have become common widely used within society. It is well understood within our industry that fundamental computer science education is important for our engineers. Due to time and place, however, it is not so easy to open such educational courses. Furthermore, available lecturers are limited. We started for our information engineers a new overall course lectured by instructors from inside and outside of the company. The course consists of 7 sessions, 3 days each (21 days in total) and includes not only lectures, but also practical training, discussions and presentations. We recognize that effective education is key to raise highly capable engineers. This paper describes our experience with the execution methods and the effects of basic education in our company. |
