Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The purpose of this study is to develop the automatic recognition system by which the visually impaired can understand the music note. This study is also followed by databasing musical information. The music note is written by musical method and this can detect the wrong recognition. In music Notation the shape of symbols is simple, but overlaps among symbols and confusing connections always occur. The algorithm used in this study is the improved scan algorithm between staff lines. The advantage of this algorithm is that the recognition of printed music note can be done faster. We nave tried some relative simple music note recognition tests, and the recognition results exceed to 90% correct.
