Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Relation between knowledge complexity and difficulty of textbook at example oriented learning is analyzed. The complexity is rated by information units defined newly in this paper. The information units are the only propositions which have fresh meaning for the leaners in the textbook. The information units are classified by the number of preconditions necessary to realize the information units. The difficulty is rated by the learners' error rate of exercises. Experimental results using C language textbook shows good agreement between the measured error rates and the calculated error rates base on the numbers of classified information units. The more numbers of information units with the more preconditions exist, the higher the error rates become.
