Collaborative Information Filtering for Distributed Cooperative Work/Learning Environment : Representation of Personal Interests and Its Acquisition Method

Abstract(in English) Nowadays, large amounts of on-line information broadcasted from private persons/corporations are available in the Internet and these situation is called `Information Inundation'. In particular, there are large amounts of on-line resources valid for learning. However,our present conditions are that these resources are underutilized, because of these 'Information Inundation'. The purpose of this study is to develop`Information Filtering System', which collects, classifies, stores various kinds of information through the Internet. Especially, we propose a collaborative filtering where collaboration with group members is incorporated into the process of filtering. In this paper, we mainly describe the representation of personal interests on information and its acquisition method in our system.
