Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We are investigating methods of computer support for collaborative distance learning, in which two mutually separated schools are connected via network, and scenes and atmosphere of the remote school are displayed on a large-size screen with full of presence. From the experimental results we conducted so far, it turned out that this kind of distance learning is feasible, while there are many problems which need to be solved concerning computer support. One of which is the problem concerning the communication between a teacher of a school and a pupil of the other scbool. In collaborative distance learning, communication between two remote schools are important as well as that within a school. In this paper, we propose a "panel for pointing pupil's seat", which is devised for improvement of communication between the schools. Then, we will discuss the results of application of the panel into collaborative experiments, from thestandpoint of CSCW.
