| Abstract(in English) | In current Japanese Braille code system, non-uniqueness and Shortage of Braille symbols are serious problems to transcribe materials in print into Braille, especially electronic ones. In the first part of this report, they are quantitatively estimated by our statistical research. In "Unified Japanese Braille Code (UJBC)" which we propose here, those problems are almost solved. Hence, a bi-directional transcription between Braille and print will become possible. Furthermore "readability" would not become so worse if UJBC were introduced. In the last part, we show a central registration system or Braille code which can check conflicts of assigned Braille symbols in UJBC. |
