| Abstract(in English) | In order to develop the Unified Japanese Braille Code (UJBC), braille symbols were assigned to all non-kanji graphic codes defined in the code for information interchange of the Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS X-0201 and JIS X-0208). The UJBC is made by integrating two set of braille symbols. The one is the kana symbols in the Japanese braille code in use. The other is that of the Unified English Braille Code, which was developed by the International Council on English Braille in 1995 to improve problems occurred in the automatic transcription between braille and print documents by computers. It will enable us to read and write not only general documents but also technical documents such as computer science and mathematics in Japanese or English by this UJBC. |
