Abstract(in English) We have newly developed a compact (38cm width) and directivity controlled loudspeaker system on the float top of television sets. The speech intelligibility test was administered to 28 people with slightly senile hearing impairement verifying the the effectiveness of this system. As the results, the discrimination scores were generally very high due to the sound field amplification. It is feasible to propose a television sound compensation system with directivity controlled loudspeaker, which is used for the people with slightly hearing loss in the high frequency range, as well as normal listeners simultaneously, without turning up volume of television sets in the open sound field.
