Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The linguistical transition of TIME and Newsweek from 1940 to 1990 was analyzed by using a computer. As a result, it was proved that both the frequency of words and that of letters had almost the same characteristics in both magazines. 0n the other hand, compared with English in other genres, such as technology and literature written in '90, some differences were perceived. After that, the difficulty degree of the writings was considered by the frequency of words which junior high school students should learn. And if 90% of the whole words are taught previously, the improvement of educational effect is admitted.
