Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) It is known that NV-sequential term rewriting systems have a decidable one-step normalizing strategy as index reduction. This paper introduces an extension of NV-sequential systems, called NVNF- sequential systems. In NVNF-sequential systems, indices are defined by the reachability to the normal form concerning the reduction relation generated by the left-hand sides and the non-variable parts of the right-hand sides of rewriting rules. We show that indices of any term are decidable when the system is NVNF- sequential. Moreover,we state that like NV-sequential systems, every orthogonal NVNF-sequential system has a normalizing strategy as index reduction.
