Investigation of radiated electromagnetic field suppression by coplanar-strip lines structure

Abstract(in English) Printed circuit board(PCB)should be designed to reduce the emission from information technology equipment(ITE). Various design method and devices have been developed to reduce it. However, advance technologies are needed to cope with the progress of information technology. In this report, the radiated electromagnetic field from a coplanar-strip line structure is investigated and compare with the field from a micro-strip line structure. In order to imitate the signal propagation mode of a coplanar-strip line, the 2 signals, whose phase were reverse each other, were added to each line, and the radiated electromagnetic fields were measured at the distance of 3m. The measured results were compared with the calculation results using the moment method. The investigation shows that the calculation results are almost agree with the measured results and the radiated electromagnetic fields reduce 20~25dB using coplanar-strip lines compared with the radiated electric field from a micro-strip line. The results also indicate that the radiation level increases in proportion with the space between conductors of a coplanar-strip line.
