Effect of Ground Size for Emission from a Printed Circuil Board

Abstract(in English) In order to study the effects of the size of a ground plane on the radiation from the microstrip lines, the emission from a microstrip line on a printed circuit board by changing the width and length of the ground plane is analyzed by using FDTD method. It is shown that the common-mode currents is excited by difference of length between the microstrip line and the ground plane, and a large emission from PCB with a narrow ground plane is mainly caused by common-mode current on the under side of the ground plane. The experimental results indicate validity of the numerical results.
