Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Time domain characteristics of electromagnetic pulse was investigated by actual measurement and the FDTD analysis method. Measurements were taken using an optical electric field sensor, which utilizes an optical modulator and broadband sensor. The pulse shape of the measured results near the center of the dipole antenna agreed with those of the input and FDTD calculated results. Hence, the suitability of this measurement method and FDTD analysis was confirmed. Next, the same measurements and analyses were done near the tip of the antenna. Results showed pulse with inverted amplitude and oscillations. To further understand this phenomenon, time variation of the pulse distribution was analyzed using 3D plot of the E-field strength calculated with FDTD.
