| Abstract(in English) | An analysis of a resonance characteristic of a Whispering Gallery mode(W.G.M)in a dielectric elliptical cylinder is presented.The cylinder has large dimensions compared with a handling wavelength.The electromagnetic field of W.G.M is expressed by a series of the Mathieu functions of large orders.The resonant frequencies are calculated numerically from the eigen- value equation derived from the field expressions and boundary conditions.In the numerical calculations,it is found that the number of terms can be estimated for convergence to accurate solutions as the ellipticity of the cylinder. |
