Effect of Magnetic Properties of Ferrite-Resin Composite on Attenuation Characteristics in GHz Band

Abstract(in English) As a study to develop electronic packages using electromagnetic wave absorbing materials, in order to suppress EMI(Electromagnetic Interference) generated from electronic devices, It is necessary to get the effect of complex relative permeability(μ_r) and permittivity(ε_r) of electromagnetic wave absorbing materials using ferrite-resin composites, on insertion loss of same materials. Within a frequency range of 45MHz to 10GHz, the insertion loss of a coaxial sample holder, filled with ferrite-resin composites were measured by a network analyzer, Furthermore, μ_r and ε_r of ferrite-resin composites were calculated according to Nicolson-Ross, Weir equations, and insertion loss of coaxial transmission lines filled with ferrite-resin composites were calculated using above μ_r and ε_r values. Calculated results of insertion loss were presented to show a good agreement with above measured values.
