Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, we discuss the co-existence problem of DS-CDMA and TDMA systems where both signals share the same frequency band to improve the spectral efficiency. We evaluate the spectral efficiency of a DS-CDMA/ (frequency-multiplexed) TDMA frequency sharing system, and show that the system can provide a greater capacity than a single multiple access scheme-based system such as DS-CDMA or TDMA, when we use an active narrowband intereference rejection technique against the TDMA signals. The rejection of the narrowband TDMA signals can significantly improve the bit error rate performance of the DS-CDMA signal and enhance the total capacity of the frequency sharing system.
