A Study on characteristics of wave absorber with consideration ofperiodic length

Abstract(in English) In this report, the error of reflection coefficient calculated by uniform approximation method was studied. The reflection coefficient calculated by MMP method was used for reference. The applicable range of uniform approximation method was invesitigated with respect to the periodic length, frequency of incident wave and the dielectric constant of the absorber. A contour map of the error by uniform approximation method was created. Using this contour map, for example, frequency characteristics of the error produced by wedge-shaped absorber can be examined. Characteristics of a wave absorber designed using point-frequency-matching method were calculated by MMP and uniform approximation. As a result, when the periodic length of absorber was 20cm, both result agreed. But when the periodic length reached 30cm, reflection coefficient of the absorber exceeded permissible levels at high frequency.
