Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Re-designing information retrieval systems (or search engines)becomes an interesting research topic according to the wide spread use of the Web. Any retrieval system working affectively should be organized so that it can treat the document subjects and the user's retrieval intention in a satisfactory manner. We here see the methods of expressing them by replacing the keywords with the identifiers in a concept hierarchy, and of mapping the documents and the queries into a multi-dimensional conceptual space with reduced noise. Further the incremental methods of capturing the user's retrieval intention as a concept 'relevant' or a user profile by way of relevance judgment are shown.
