Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) It is significant to complement omitted antecedents of anaphors in automatic text summarization. We present a method of complementing antecedents of demonstrative adjectives into a summarized text. Our system analyzes news articles. Extracting antecedent phrases, our system successed in improving the cohesion of the summary and in preventing the number of characters from rising. We made a questionnaire in regard to coherence, correctness and comprehensibility of summaries between former and our system, and the result proved the superiority of our system.
